FAQs (For Agtech companies)

Rouge Agtech Accelerator FAQs for startups (Jan 15, 2026)
Q1) What types of agtech solutions can be tested at your farm?
We support testing for a wide range of agtech solutions, including precision agriculture tools, crop monitoring systems, satellite imagery, soil health technologies, water management systems, IoT devices, robotics, and sustainable farming innovations. Other technologies may be considered upon discussion, subject to compatibility with our strategy.
Q2) What are the costs for startups participating in the program?
Participation in the Rouge Agtech Accelerator is free, pending our review of your technology’s suitability. This includes access to our farm, facilities, and networking opportunities with investors, corporates, press, and government entities. Startups are responsible for their own logistics, travel, accommodation, and equipment costs.
Q3) What makes your farm unique compared to other agtech testing facilities?
Our 8.6-hectare rice farm in Thailand offers a real-world agricultural environment, ideal for testing under diverse conditions. As a venture capital firm, we provide direct access to investors and industry experts, along with tailored support services like agronomic expertise and data analysis. This combination of practical testing grounds and investment-focused support sets us apart.
Q4) Will you claim ownership of our agtech solutions or intellectual property?
No. Your intellectual property and solutions remain entirely yours. We provide the testing environment and ecosystem, but you retain full ownership and can remove your technology at any time.
Q5) How soon can startups expect funding after testing?
Funding depends on investor interest, market conditions, and your solution’s performance during testing. Successful testing on our farm increases visibility to our investor network, but timelines vary based on external factors. We facilitate connections but cannot guarantee funding.
Q6) What is the size and setup of your farm?
Our farm spans 8.6 hectares (86,000 square meters) across four plots, primarily used for rice farming. It includes basic farming infrastructure, such as irrigation and storage. Startups typically provide their own proprietary equipment, but we offer logistical and technical support for setup.
Q7) How long can startups test their technology at your farm?
Testing durations are flexible, typically ranging from a few weeks for short trials to two years for extensive projects. We tailor timelines to your technology’s needs and project goals, finalized during the planning phase.
Q8) Are international startups eligible to participate?
Yes, we welcome international startups. While Thai startups face simpler regulations, we assist international participants in navigating Thai regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
Q9) What support services do you provide during testing?
We offer technical assistance, data collection and analysis, and logistical support. We also guide startups on experimental design and facilitate connections with investors and industry partners.
Q10) What regulations or permits are required for testing?
We manage all necessary permits and regulatory requirements for testing on our farm. Startups must provide detailed technology specifications, and we will guide you through the compliance process. To preserve soil health and contamination, there will be specific rules you will have to follow, especially the avoidance of tilling, soil fertilisers, planting, chemicals, etc that may adversely damage the soil long term.
Q11) Can startups showcase their solutions to investors at the farm?
Yes, we host regular demo days and events where startups can present their solutions to investors, industry stakeholders, and potential clients, providing valuable exposure and networking opportunities.
Q12) How do startups apply or schedule a farm visit?
Apply or schedule a visit via our website at www.rougevc.com/agtech-accelerator. We’ll provide application details and collaborate to design a testing plan tailored to your needs.
Q13) What happens after testing is complete?
Post-testing, we provide a detailed performance report validating your technology. We also facilitate connections with investors, partners, and customers to support commercialization, supplemented by case studies and showcasing opportunities to boost visibility.
Q14) Do you offer promotional opportunities for successful startups?
Yes, we promote successful startups through our website, social media, press releases, and industry events, helping you gain visibility and attract investors or customers.
Q15) What is the application and onboarding process?
  1. Application Review: We evaluate your technology’s suitability for our farm.
  2. Pitch Deck & Due Diligence: We review your pitch deck and company details.
  3. Initial Meeting: We discuss your goals and requirements.
  4. Follow-Up: Additional questions or calls as needed.
  5. Terms Negotiation: We finalize testing parameters and responsibilities.
  6. Testing & Duration Planning: We structure the testing framework and timeline.
  7. Logistical Planning: We assist with equipment transport and setup.
  8. Testing Phase: Your solution is deployed and monitored on our farm.
Q18) Is mentorship or business development support available?
Yes, we offer mentorship from industry experts, and venture capital professionals to guide startups on technical development, business strategy, and investor pitching.
Q19) Can startups collaborate with each other at the farm?
Yes, we encourage collaboration among startups in our program. Our events and shared facilities foster networking and potential partnerships to enhance innovation.
Q20) What are the expectations for startups during the program?
Startups are expected to actively participate in testing, provide necessary equipment, share technology details for regulatory compliance, and engage in networking and demo opportunities. We expect professionalism and commitment to achieving testing goals.
